I first purchased a pair of Mizuno Wave Universe 2's because they were highly recommended by Dr. Romanov on the PoseTech.com web site. The Mizuno Wave Universe 2 has now been replaced by the Mizuno Wave Universe 3. However, from what I've been able to ascertain, the two models are virtually identical except for the color, and the pattern on the sole of the shoe.
They meet all of my criteria for a good Pose Running shoe
The Wave Universe line is currently my first choice as a general purpose running shoe. The primary reason is that they meet all of my criteria as good shoes for Pose Running. They are designed as racing flats, they are exceptionally light, the soles are thin, and they have a very slight heel rise, and finally they are flexible.
They have some other really good qualities
Besides meeting all of my criteria for a Pose Running shoe, the Wave Universe line is surprisingly durable for such a light shoe. I've warn them regularly during my CrossFit workouts, and they have always held up well. These shoes are also unusually comfortable because they breathe well, and form to my feet
When wouldn't I wear them?
The Mizuno Wave Universe line of shoes are great for mild to hot weather, because they breathe well. They are also fine for cold dry weather, but they are too porous for cold wet weather. Since I live in the North Eastern part of the United States, running in cold wet weather during the winter is almost a given, and I do wear other shoes in these conditions.
The Mizuno Wave Universe line of shoes are ideal general purpose shoes for Pose Running. However, if you will be doing a lot of running in cold wet weather, I would suggest that you find an alternative pair of shoes more suited for those conditions.
