Shoe Review - Vibrams Fivefingers KSO

Vibrams Fivefingers Shoes have grown in popularity right along side the minimalist running movement. They seem to be the perfect compromise for people who want to run with a natural stride, but are hesitant to go completely barefoot. When running in an urban, or suburban environment, the idea of going barefoot can be a bit intimidating, given what some people will leave on the ground. Also, if you are like me, and you have to do a lot of your running in evening when it's dark, then running completely barefoot is probably a really bad idea.

My Evaluation of the Vibrams Fivefingers KSO
In general, I really like the Vibrams Fivefingers KSO. I do almost all of my CrossFit workouts in them. However, I only do maybe 10 to 20 percent of my running in these shoes. I find that running in Vibrams is a very good way check on my technique, and I would wear them more often except that I don't care for the separated toes while running. In fact, I wish the people at Vibrams would consider making a line of shoes without separated toes, or with just the big toe separate.

How do they stack against my criteria for Pose Running shoes?
  1. Low heal rise - Check
  2. Thin soles - Check
  3. Flexible -Check
  4. Light weight -Check
Clearly these are a pretty good choice for Pose Running shoes. However, if your technique is not very good, these shoes will expose that fact very quickly. So I recommend them for people who have good technique, or at least for those who can land lightly. Also, in my opinion, they are better for mild weather conditions. I have used them in the winter, but only when it was relatively dry. I also would recommend the Injinji five toed socks that are often used with Vibrams if you intend to use them in cold weather.

  1. i like five finger vibrams better ,i think that five finger vibrams makes the toe boxes on their feet nice and wide, and you will see your calves and bare feet in the process of your running which is the best way to train your muscles of feet and legs.Let's go to five finger vibrams to have a pair to have a try. i trust that you will agree with me
