On this blog, I've discussed how and why it is important, to learn proper technique before doing much barefoot or minimalist mileage. Retraining one's technique is not just a matter of putting on minimalist shoes or taking one's shoes of altogether. Every runner should make sure that his or her technique in place first in order to start minimalist and barefoot running in a responsible way. Running is a skill. Learn the skill, and then you can run in any shoes you want, or even go barefoot.
